This prototype application was created for an Advanced Server-side Technologies module, in the final year of my University course. The brief required us to produce a prototype web application for the Royal Literary Fund, called Alex Essay Toolkit.
The application required that Yii2 PHP Framework be used to produce a content management back-end system, that allowed administrators to manager staff logins, and content. This approach included the use of MVC, and also required that data could be created, read, updated, and deleted. The application’s data structure consisted of four SQL tables, these were added into Yii2 using the MVC approach and CRUD interface to create views.
Jet Brain’s PHPStorm was used due to its support of the Yii2 framework. This provided a live interface with the server, and facilitated continuous testing.
This project was marked at an overall 83%, with positive feedback received. The marker stated that this was the most complete version of the application that had been marked.
